Regarding Candidate Endorsement

Postby Whrlwnd13 » 23 Jun 2010 07:29

Recently the GA Tea Party, Marietta, Cobb County & Alpharetta 9-12 groups have made statements endorsing candidates. Forming what they call the 9-12 Action Network.

912 Action Network e-mail

AJC: Conservative groups release endorsements, scorecards

While we share many of the same goals and objectives and in some cases we may, as individuals support some of the same candidates. As a group, North Georgia 912 inc. does not endorse candidates.

We feel that our members are intelligent enough to make their own decisions on which candidates to support and vote for. To that end we feel that it is our responsibility to provide our members the opportunity to meet and question the candidates.

We are not sheeple. We will not be told by other groups who we should support. We feel that voting and/or supporting a candidate is a personal decision that should be made by each individual. We will not tell you which candidate you should support or who you should vote for.

Very well said, Whrl.

North Georgia 912, Inc fully believes in the 9 principles and 12 values that started this organization. One of the values that we hold especially dear to us is, Personal Responsiblity. We believe it is in everyone's best interest to get out, get educated and make an informed decision. There are many avenues for ways to learn about the candidates if you are not able to get to meet and greet events.

To that end, we believe that who to vote for is a personal decision. It is not our place, as an organization, to tell you who to vote for. We believe in giving you the information and the opportunity to meet and greet with the candidates, so that you can make an educated, informed decision when you head into the voting booth.

If you wish to know who the individuals of North Georgia 912 are supporting, simply ask them. However, as an organization, North Georgia 912 does not endorse, will not endorse and will not use the power of endorsement for political gain for our organization or our members.
Have a blessed day!!!

Wow, candidate endorsement is a real slippery slope! If you think about it who endorses candidates…Unions & Media and both can be & have been bought through a variety of methods! I feel that this movement is about the people, so it is up to the people to do our own research on the candidates we plan on voting for.

North Georgia 912's focus will continue to be on education and action. We want to educate the voters on history and current politics, while taking action on issues with individuals and patriotic organizations.

We believe in principles and values. PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY is a critical value that each of us must learn to live. In the respect that we each need to do our own research by investigating the candidates through interviews, attending candidate forums, and reviewing their history. It is up to “WE the People” to do our DUTY. That means that we must pay attention and participate in the political process.

It is critical in the next few days that YOU get out and live another value, HARD WORK. Once you find a candidate that you feel passionate towards their abilities and positions, than it is up to you to get them past the primaries. You must work hard for these candidates, because they don’t have the power of corruption standing behind them, only the power of AMERICAN PRIDE. It is high time for us to show it! If you do not get out and do this work than it is a sure bet that there will be no choices in November.

Do not put yourself in a follower’s position; it is to close to slavery. Of course, if you trust a group’s opinion, make it a point to verify their direction prior to going in it. These groups can provide great starting points in your research process.

JUST REMEMBER THIS IS PERSONAL.

The GA TEA Party is not part of the GA 912 Project Action Network.

The GA TEA Party did a joint press release with GA912PAN and Americans for Prosperity/GA in which each group participated:
AFP presented a voter guide based on incumbent voting records
GA TEA presented a document based on feedback from candidate questionnaires
GA912PAN presented endorsement announcements based on candidate interviews, thousands of hours of research, FOIA findings, voting records, and following their money trails. Our candidates will assure you that it was unlike any other inquisition to which they had been ever subjected.

With the endorsement came boots on the ground support for 13 candidates including a victorious majority who attribute their victories directly to our support based on high voter precincts we walked for them. We have physical data to show that we were effective enough to have won precincts of opponents and good old boys networks (unprecedented). In the instances of the losing races-the runoff opponents are LITERALLY groveling for our support and offering concesssions such as votes on conservative legislation and caucusing with conservatives that they likely would not be supporting had demands by We the People not been insisted upon. (So UnitedWeStand is correct in the union endorsement analogy-only this time it's moderates and relative moderates being expected to vote conservative due to pressure from We the People and and not vote progressive due to pressure from lobbyists and union bosses....you're welcome y'all.) Incrementalism in the RIGHT direction. We have a way to go in GA but hey at least not as far as some of the yankee states!

But really I just wanted to clarify the GA TEA group is not part of the 912PAN since I don't believe their tax status allows for endorsements.

P.S. I just found out yesterday there is a 912 group south of ATL that does not endorse but they carved out a substantial subgroup that did the same thing successfully in their county as the network did! The reason I bring this up is because 912PAN welcomes individuals in GA-9 and GA-7, and anywhere else. You are welcome to be a proud member of both the wonderful NGA912 and 912PAN, just as I am.
