Storm the Capitol - Thursday, November 5th

How do you feel about Govt healthcare? The proposed system will take the decisons away from you and your provider and put them in the hands of Govt bureaucrats.

Storm the Capitol - Thursday, November 5th

Postby lori » 30 Oct 2009 23:18

Michele Bachmann (R) MN said on Hannity tonight that she invites Americans opposed to govt takeover of healthcare to meet her at noon Nov. 5 on the Capitol steps to walk with her through the various congressional office buildings.

There is supposed to be more on her website http://www.michelebachmann.com/ but nothing is there at the time of my sending this.

Here is the clip from Hannity’s show (long-go to 6:00)

I saw the clip, and what I really love about Bachmann is she makes the point, early and often, that this stuff is just plain unconstitutional. There's not much beyond that that needs to be said in opposition.

I'd love to join her in DC, but.....it's in DC.

I can't go b/c I have obligations here at home, can't afford travel, hotel and time away from work, and I really don't like the gun laws in DC.

Here's my real rub with the focus on DC though: As Bachmann has pointed out, Obama-Pelosi-care is UNCONSTITUTIONAL..........a violation of the very agreement which the nation is based upon, an essential part of our national identity. To focus on Washington DC lends legitimacy to what they are doing. I'm all for going to DC and telling congress how I feel, but it's a real expenditure of rescources, time, and effort which I think could be better spent elsewhere.

Why not call for rallies and such at state capitols to DEMAND that state legislatures and governors exercise some interposition and assert state's rights in a meaningful way to protect their citizens from unconstitutional federal intrusion? Doing that would lend less legitimacy to what Obama and his pay-to-play Chicago way socialist radicals are trying to do. AND it would be easier to travel to one's state capitol than to go all the way to D.C.

Those that are able to attend shout at Nancy for us!

Daniel, some interesting thoughts. However, I think we need to attack this on many fronts. Any way we can speak out and get attention for our opposition is worthwhile. I don't think it matters if we legitimize what the socilists are doing or not. they're going to try to ram it through with or without the American peoples consent.

I agree that we must force our state officials to find a way to insulate us from this clusterf...

I think there is also a protest at the State capitol in Atlanta, on thursday, being organized by AFP. I'll post once i get the details.

Michele Bachmann now has a link on her site to AFP. Americans for Prosperity is organizing local events because it is understandable that not everyone will make it to DC.

North Georgia 9-12 is working with other groups to STORM THE CAPITOL on November 5th we are currently organizing buses leaving Buford GA on Weds 11/4 spending all Thursday in DC then returning to GA on Friday.

This may be the last chance that we get to speak out against the Government Controlled Healthcare before Congress rams HR 3962 down our throats.

Please do what you can to attend this event, if you can't make it please contribute to allow another Patriot to go in your place.

Please check our the web page for this event for more info and updates at www.northgeorgia912.com/stormthecapitol.htm

I cannot go to Washington. So I donated $20.00 for someone else to go. Everyone that can't go should do the same.

Willow thanks for the contribution. I think that there are going to be some very surprised elected officials on Thursday. Though this was a spur of the moment thing I think that there will be a good turnout. Many groups across the country have been working feverishly, since Bachmann made the plea, to get people there.

I want to thank every Patriot that is able to take time out of their busy schedule to go to DC and Speak Up for those of us that are unable to attend, Thank you for Representing us!! And to all those that have contributed in many different ways, to make this happen, Thank you for doing your part!!
