Escapees from the Great White North

My wife, Patti, and I recently fled the "great" socialist state of Minnesota for a dose of warmer climes, common sense, Christian virtues, and American freedom. We've gotten all of these here in our first three weeks in Georgia and each of these certainly in no small way. We were Tea Party folks in Duluth, Minnesota, where patriot blood runs as hot as it does here but comes under attack by the liberal left in all manner imaginable. The difference up there is that while most folks have viewpoints rooted in conservative values, they just can't shake a liberal mindset that has flourished, passed on from generation to generation. This is the same state that gave sanctuary to Communists fleeing Europe during WWII who traveled through Canada before finding safe haven there, primarily in northern Minnesota. This area is further dominated by a Scandinavian heritage that is based on pure socialism carried to this country from Norway and Finland. We eagerly await the opportunity to participate fully and contribute to cleaning out Congress at the earliest possible opportunity. The only question - where and when is the next meeting?!

My husband, Whrlwnd13, and I are transplants from New Jersey. We understand the defeating attitude of being in a state that leans LEFT. However, the recent mind-blowing event of electing Governor Christie, gives us hope for all of America.

Thank you for sharing your insight on Minnesota. I never knew it was that liberal and why. You've got rockstar Michelle Bachman who I personally really like.

I responded to your other post about our next meeting -- the BBQ is going to be great and I encourage you to make it if you can. After that, our next meeting will be I beleive the 3rd Thursday of July. It will be our Constitutional Thursday. All of our meetings are held at the Dam Bar, 3280 McEver Road, Buford, GA.

shhhhh... ixnay on the erseyj

I'm originally from New York and hate it when people think i'm from NJ (though, I did happen to live there part of my life) just one of those rivalry things. NJ has improved since the last elections but it's got a ways to go.

Glad to have you aboard Canuck! You'll find that there are more transplants than natives here in the Metro Atlanta area. We came here for the lower taxes and the warm weather. We are really happy here (though getting used to the volume of traffic is tough), We were happy to find so many like minded patriots!
