As 912'ers and Patriots we hold ourselves to a different standard. We believe in Hard Work, Personal Responsibility, Gratitude, and Charity to name a few; we also like to have FUN!

We truly believe in our cause and what North Georgia 9-12 is working towards. We want to share with others what we are doing and get our name out there to people who believe the way we do but just don't know about us yet.

Are you looking to get involved but just not sure what you could do? Do you like to have fun? Do you like NASCAR?

We really need your help!!!

ATLANTA MOTOR SPEEDWAY

We are setting up camp at Atlanta Motor Speedway for the Kobalt Tools 500. This is a week-long event starting Saturday, February 27th @ 8:00AM through Sunday, March 7th Race Day!

We will have a booth and are looking for many volunteers to help us in many different ways. Please check out the list below for ways that YOU can help! We only need a few hours of your time during the week. We need your help to reach out to the massive crowds that attend the NASCAR events. This is a great way to help North Georgia 912 while still having a lot of fun!

Purpose: Come watch how the Big Boys play Catch the Flag. We are going to have fun, we are going to cheer on our favorite drivers and spread the message of North Georgia 9-12. We know that a lot of our members are BIG NASCAR fans! Who doesn't like the races? Help us spread the word about North Georgia 9-12 while partying with the race crowd. We'll pass out literature about North Georgia 9-12, promote the Healthcare Freedom Act and how to get involved locally to affect change.

Please sign up for the following by sending an email to nascar@northgeorgia912.com with what you can do and what time slots you would like to volunteer! We will work around your schedule.

If you have any questions or comments you can also post them here on our message boards.

____ I want to hang out and have a great time in a campfire setting with other patriots. I will bring a sack lunch or dinner with me and a snack or drink to share.

____ I will help set up our base campsite on Saturday Feb 27th (weekend before race weekend)

____ I will work a table at our tents, set up with literature and information, donation jar & portable DVD players. (Bring your NASCAR gear if you're a fan & your patriotic flag as well.)

____ I will email photos from past events that we can print to share in a photo album for our booth.

____ I will bring some firewood, tend to a fire pit, & bring hotdogs or marshmallows to roast.

____ I will walk about the race track with a clipboard conducting surveys and asking if they've heard of North Georgia 9-12. I will help by handing out literature and signing people up for our email list if interested.

____ I will draw attention to our camp & invite others to have fun with us. I will tailgate, have fun and play games to encourage people to come and check out our tent. This is a way to relate to our conservative NASCAR fans & encourage them to get involved.

____ I will camp overnight in a tent or RV (bring sleeping bag & blankets). We need a few people every night to watch over our materials and RV/tents.

____ I will bring a guitar or help us make up rhymes/satirical songs about our movement. We can always use more cadences!

____ I will walk about the race track putting NGA9-12 literature on cars on FRIDAY the 5th, SATURDAY the 6th, or SUNDAY the 7th (RACE DAY).

____ I will distribute NGA9-12 literature to the NASCAR fans AFTER the SUNDAY RACE at the exit gates.

____ I will distribute literature to the fans in cars held hostage by traffic after the race.

Hey, hey. OK, we are signed up for Friday night and part of Saturday.

I do have questions though - since I AM NOT into racing ( although I don't have anything against it, of course) -

How do we get in? I mean, do we have to have tickets for the actual race? Pay at a gate? ( I know you guys are probably paying for the sites, but is there anything else we need money for?)

Also, I'm assuming this is a public gathering - so just FYI for any of us that carry...( I'll check the rules, although you can guess what AMS will say... gonna feel strange without my little buddy there. lol)

And, oh- one more thing - make sure you are prepared for rain. I seem to recall many of these early season races in ATL. having to deal with rain........tarps are great. extra clothes are even better...shelters of some sort are the best.

ok, i lied one more - are these campgrounds out in the open or under trees, etc?

thanks! looking forward to it!

I would leave the heat in the car since Sonny refuses to define what a public gathering is. Buy now you can carry in National Parks!!

You started drinking on that second sentence, didn't you? :) LOL

I think I'll be leaving it at home. ( Which is what kills me when you go to a PG, etc. I mean, if you do it legally, you lose the ability to defend yourself on the way to and from something like this, too. Of course, as one guy on georgiapacking.org says - "concealed is concealed." 8-)

I believe parking is free along the side of the airport a very short walking distance to our site. I will confirm this asap. Overnight voluteers will get permits to park on the sites. Owl, your covered ;) You only need to purchase tickets, if you would like to attend one of the events, there are several during the weekend. The big race is Sunday at noon.

As long as you have your camping gear (if needed), food, and beverage there will be no costs. We'll have a gas grill on site, if you would like to bring your favorite grilling foods. There is shopping/restaurants close by, if anyone should need something.

Ok, wait. :) hahaha....

that all sounds good until I got to the "parking by the road at the airport?

You can tell I've never been down there, can't you? :) LOL

I hate to be a total pain, but it would help it we had some directions on how to get around and exactly where you're talking about parking, etc. I can find my way down there, but don't want to ? I dunno - get a ticket or have someone steal my truck? :) LOL ( I'm a paranoid worry-wart. sorry. )

I found a map on the racetrack website that shows the camping areas... any way someone could mark it up in Paint or something with where to go?

Also, while I'm rambing, I love the lists of stuff! :) I'm a planner, in addition to being a paranoid lunatic. :)

We pretty much just have two-man type stuff since we don't have kids, but I do have an extra tent if someone needs to borrow it( we'll bring it just in case). We'll bring firewood too, and some munchies type food and water and cokes. We ( really, I...) do more hike-in camping than family style so unfortunately we don't have alot of car-camping gear. However, if anyone wants to hike into the wilderness for a mile or two sometime, we got it covered. :) LOL

So, let me know where to go please and we will see you Friday night as soon as we can get there. You guys are the best. :)
